The Newton Country Players are pleased to announce auditions for a fall fundraiser from the point of view of musical theater's most misunderstood and infamous characters. Just in time for Halloween, "Villains and Vixens" will be presented in a format reminiscent of "Side by Side by Sondheim" or "Smokey Joe's Café." This review will feature some of the wickedest of villains and the sexiest of vixens to meet and extol the merits of being evil. This special event will be directed and choreographed by Laura Espy, assistant directed by Benjamin Rackl, and music directed by Dan Rodriguez.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 4th from 7-10 p.m. at Mass Bay Community College on 50 Oakland Street in Wellesley, Massachusetts. There will be no callbacks. Please prepare 32 measures of a Broadway song performed by either a villain or vixen that best showcases your vocal and acting talent. Please bring your own sheet music. Please also dress for movement.

Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-10 p.m. at the college. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evening, October 24 and 25, 2008 at 8 p.m. at the same location. The production will consist of a core ensemble of 15-25 actors. The minimum age requirement for this audition is 17.
